Empowering Communication Through S2C - spelling to communicate
We believe that every person has a voice. Spell-to-Communicate (S2C) provides access to purposeful motor skills, enabling individuals to spell, point, and express their thoughts independently.
Our mission is to guide spellers and their families on their journey to autonomy, confidence, and full participation in life.
Spell-to-Communicate (S2C) is a method designed by i-ASC.org. This method teaches purposeful motor skills to help individuals to point to letters on a letterboard to communicate. Many non-speaking individuals have motor and sensory challenges — not cognitive limitations.
S2C Provides:
• Motor coaching to support communication
• Language and academic growth
• Emotional regulation support
• Tools for independence and self-advocacy
We support each speller’s unique nervous system, communication style, and sensory needs.
Our practice is grounded in neuroscience-informed motor coaching, consent-based support, and collaborative learning.

We are passionate advocates for communication rights and autonomy. Serving the non- speaking community.
We are proud to be the first in Scotland to be trained in (S2C) Spelling-to-communicate, through the International Association for Spelling as Communication. I-ASC www.i-asc.org
With training in:
• Spell-to-Communicate methodology
• Motor & sensory support strategies
• Neurodiversity-affirming practice
Our commitment is simple:
Every person deserves to be heard.

We partner with families to empower communication at home.

Elizabeth Bonker

At SPARC Scotland, we believe that learning should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience. That's why we offer a supportive and collaborative environment that encourages students to explore their passions and achieve their goals.

Our first speller is the reason we launched SPARC , he started his journey with PALZ Ireland in may 2024 and he is now on his way to open communication with so many hopes and dreams for his future.

There are many spellers to follow across the UK / Ireland and across the world. Sparc is proud to start the community in Scotland.

Our S2C practitioners are experts in their respective fields, and are dedicated to providing spellers with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
Please reach us at admin@sparcscotland.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Yes. Many face motor challenges, not cognitive limitations.
Each speller’s journey is unique — growth happens step by step.
No. S2C focuses on motor control, regulation, autonomy, and presumed competence
Non speaking also refers to minimally speaking or unreliable speaking individuals - when a person's spoken words do not accurately reflect their thoughts or intentions. S2C allows access to a full vocabulary of 26 letters giving access to infinite possibilities and ideas to then express oneself.
